Casselberry Golf Club to be Sold for more than Two Million

Casselberry Golf Club which has been under considerable financial duress for a long period of time is all set to see a change in ownership. According to its present owners the club has been witnessing hard times ever since the year 2012 by incurring heavy losses. The club is believed to have run into a debt of as many as eighty seven thousand dollars, one that simply cannot be repaid.

City Commissioners in Casselberry have opted to buy the club for as much as two and a half million dollars approximately. City legislators acknowledge that interest in golf is steadily declining and that there are few or no takers for the game here. Upon being sold, it is the Parks and Recreation Department of the club that is going to be entrusted with the responsibility of looking into the welfare of the course.

According to Commissioner Colleen Hufford, while allowing the golf course to exist is not a very lucrative deal, what makes the effort of buying it and maintaining a worthwhile one is the fact that golf as a sport provides value to the community. An elite game, it would be sad to see this regal sport go down, for reasons of finance alone.
